Abu Dhabi Government Crest

We were appointed by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council to oversee the evolution and redesign of the Abu Dhabi Government Crest.

An extensive historical research exercise revealed the important heritage represented by each element of the crest; from the majestic Saker falcon and the iconic curved khanjars, to the distinctive red and white Abu Dhabi flag.

Each of these elements were then redrawn by hand, with meticulous attention to detail, to ensure each was accurately and authentically presented; one of the world’s leading wildlife artists, Andrew Ellis, was appointed to sketch the Saker, while a pair of original khanjars were borrowed from the private collection of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family to ensure authenticity.

The various elements were then assembled to create an iconic brand for the Government of Abu Dhabi, which has since been applied across all Government departments.
